I always explore with a camera: most recently I have been fascinated with structures which were the symbols of Soviet modernism, the triumph of man over nature, but now stand consumed by the natural landscape. I also find a stark and beautiful contrast in the look of a modern skyscraper set against a timeless architectural masterpiece.
Photography allows me to express my keen interest in the diversity of life and human condition; and photographing architecture is one aspect of that, which resonates with me in particular. Taking pictures of modern structures and bustling cities as well as crumbling old relics and abandoned villages allows me to relate to a whole range of emotions and intimately understand the beauty of the world we live in.

This series is a reminder that one has to live in harmony with nature. Palaces, houses and tiny sheds look like toys set against the nature’s architecture of forests, mountains and lakes. The idea of a man as a king of nature quickly crumbles in face of this photographic evidence.

I am fascinated by the transition to a postindustrial city. I am drawn to the features that define the change in the post-industrial landscape such as the regeneration of old industrial areas into parks, squares, civic spaces and hipster coworking facilities.

Rather than preserving the past, they have to project a vision of the future based while maintaining the continuity and connection to the experience of the human race. This evolving mission is increasingly manifesting itself in new and advanced architectural expressions which I am fascinated to capture.

Interior photography should not be underestimated. A personality tends to express itself through the lived space and environment. Ideas of good or evil, values, habits, fears and frustrations put their mark on anything from a fisherman’s hut to a palace. I like to explore human stories through photography, often uncovering an unexpected and surprising angle.

I like it when a particular shape becomes a dominant feature in the urban landscape photography. Houses, roads, rivers and bridges - any given ordinary object, captured from the right perspective, can turn into a perfectly adjusted geometric composition.I like the geometry of cities. Streets, squares, roads and parks coming together in an orchestrated pure alignment sends shivers down the spine of the humble photographer.
